Wutwutwut
Absolutely Amazing, it's a pity it didn't get released under electronic, people looking out for nightslugs releases are probably more in that crowd, atleast i was confused at first when i saw it under hiphop, i mean this does fit more under some form of garage, dubstep, or some funky mutation, but ignoring what genre it might be, Girl Unit has been killing it, first with G.R.L. and now this. geez.
Fuse
Girl Unit smashes the scene with this one. What scene? Fuse? Post-dubstep? The emerging genre people can't name?
First of all let me explain where fuse comes from. It's basically a term I came up with to identify those tracks that didn't fit in any genre of the electronic music scene. Tracks that people try to label as post-dubstep when obviously, it's not. These tunes fuse elements of Hip Hop, Dubstep, Electro, Ambient, etc. and add their own vibe to it. Another great example would be "I Love You So" by Cassius.
That said, this EP is one needs to own if familiar with the "post-dubstep" scene.
Wut is definitely an acute banger.
Amazingly ... average.
That Pitchfork raves about the title track as if it's the song of the century should have been my first clue. And not to be disappointed, it's just as I suspected. An amazingly average song that deserved to slip through the cracks. Generic and uninteresting.
