Where all the colors of the world collide
This song by Justin McRoberts is one that leads me to stop and think about my faith and the life I'm leading. I think Justin is one of the best story tellers I've ever heard, whether it be in his music or at one of his live shows. I've really enjoyed His latest project CMY(K) and reading about the stories of those who the songs were written about.
A Culmination of Work.
Considering that this is the final EP of the CMY(K) project, it seems fair to say that this one takes a slightly different tone, or hue, rather. Musically, this EP is excellent. The cello reverberates throughout the EP behind powerful lyrics and harmonies.
The "Y" EP continues where the other EPs left off; questioning and challenging that which we know...and that which we don't. This EP takes on a tone of the honesty required in looking back in order to look forward. "Where All the Colors of the World Collide" will get stuck in your head and stuck in your heart. It is a song that covers much ground. If you listen closely, you may be able to decode the lyrical riddle McRoberts threw in regarding his previous albums. In my humble opinion, I think it's the best song of his yet.
If you've not begun reading the blog that explains the meaning of the songs and includes the individual letters written regarding each, you're missing a huge part of the artistry of this project. Each EP also has a beautiful album booklet that further enhances each work.
