Year of the Comet

The funnest, most unique album I've heard in a long time

     

My Version of It's latest album "Year of the Comet" can not easily be described or categorized, and that is a good thing. I'll try my best: Think classic rock, alt rock, indie rock, southern rock, and even a little bit of folk rock and old school hip hop. It's great fun, and I never once found myself bored or wanting to skip tracks.

- Lesson #02 kicks things off, and it's catchy rhythym grips you immediately
- Nunc Dimittis, track 4, brings to mind a Joy Division/My Dad is Dead-style rockin' hybrid
- Guitar Gods, one of my favorites, serves as an appropriate song title, and an appropriate description of the album overall. The star of this album is the guitar.
- Course Correction starts off with a banjo, uses that guitar-talky voice thingy, and from there... like I said earlier, it's hard to describe. Just listen and you'll agree that it's a completely unique style belonging only to itself.
- Delawareification is just fun and great
- Pyrite, another of my favorites, closes out the album with heart and passion (while, of course, still rocking)

If you're a fan of any type of "rock", and want to support local artists from the wee lil' state of Delaware, buy this album. You wont regret it.
