Sleeping At Last is so Under rated

Honestly Sleeping At Last is so Under rated as a band. These guys make original music that really has some deep lyrics and wonderful tunes to follow the flow. The Yearbook concept of releasing different albums and songs over the year was really genius in some respects, and I would say that their is hardly a song that I hear from them that I don't like. Their albums are always done with multiple classics of songs that have their own uniqueness to them.

Rich yet whimsical...

... and awesome. I stumbled across Sleeping at Last in late '10, and my daughter caught the SaL bug shortly after. (She's a big fan.) I bought all the LPs, then the EPs as they have been released. I'm not sure how to describe SaL other than I already have: rich yet whimsical, and awesome. Lyrically fresh and vivid, musically pensive and searching, and the album artwork is very cool. From the dynamics of the rockin' albums "Ghosts" & "Keep No Score," to the yearning vibe of the EPs (as of this writing, the latest is "March"), SaL is a unique and beautiful bird. I hope all the "Yearbook" songs get released as a single album eventually.

Perfection.

This is my favorite EP yet out of the the Yearbook EP's. I'm sure a different one to come will top this since this group of incredibly gifted guys never cease to progress in their skill and amaze us listeners. This is my favorite band on the earth right now, hands down. And even the fact that they are truly so underrated adds to my love for them. I saw them live once and they are incredibly down to earth, kind and humble guys. Sleeping At Last is truly a gem in this world and I am honored and proud to be a loyal fan, since the days when they released "Ghosts." Thank you guys for doing what you do and not giving up throughout the years. Your gifts and efforts are far from unnoticed. They are thoroughly appreciated and awed upon, at least from where I'm sitting. :)

Formed: 1999 in Wheaton, IL

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '90s, '00s

Sleeping at Last hailed from suburban Chicago, where guitarist/vocalist Ryan O'Neal joined with drumming brother Chad O'Neal and bassist pal Dan Perdue to play a tasteful brand of emo inflected with Christian themes. Debuting in 1999 with the EP There's a Quiet Understanding, the trio started to build a local following, playing wherever possible and doing the occasional support gig for acts like Appleseed Cast and Switchfoot. After sparking the interest of Billy Corgan with their self-released full-length,...
