Album Review
Yoga Rhythm is an enhanced CD by Soulfood (aka DJ Free, nee Gordon Schaeffer). Brent Lewis, a master percussionist, is the primary guest performer. T. Gordon Anderson (sitar), Peter Schinke (piano), and Jayson Fann (percussion solos) also appear. The music is awesome. Schaeffer and Lewis have created this set as nine separate pieces. In reality, this is a single-'60s soundscape with nine distinct atmospheres. The rhythms match the heartbeat, and the subtle auras stimulate brain wave activity. The stimuli are not quite overtones but the effects are similarly serene. This CD will appeal to fans of Gabrielle Roth, Byron Metcalf, and Jonathan Goldman.

Numbing
wish I could send it back... halfway through the third cut I realized the irritated state of my mind I was experiencing was because of this droning "rhythm" that permeates the whole album. The screaming guitar licks laced, unexpectedly throughout the four cuts I made it all the way through are far from relaxing... startling but at least it is a break from the other painful beats thumping on my brain like water torture. From the little that iTunes allowed me to listen to prior to purchase... well, lets say, I was lead astray. Please take it back... Please... take it back... "..."

Fantastic!!! The music allows the body to flow at its own rhythm! I think it is sensual, sexual and spiritual!
