iTunes Review
1983's You Can't Stop Rock 'N' Roll features Twisted Sister at its fiery best, highlighting a dual-guitar attack with strong riffs and compact solos. Singer Dee Snider wrote the songs, and his knack for catchy melodies and aggressive lyrics made Twisted Sister one of the era's more accessible metal bands. "I Am (I'm Me)" is a powerful statement of individualism, while "The Kids Are Back" is a bold group anthem. "Ride to Live, Live to Ride" is for the motorcycle set. "You're Not Alone (Suzette's Song)" is a darling power ballad (before the format had been firmly established) written for Snider's wife. Despite the band's gritty image, Twisted Sister was really a group of idealists who believed in the power of music to raise spirits and consciousness while they also had fun, as the title track bears out. The bonus track edition adds three tunes—"One Man Woman," "Four Barrel Heart of Love," and "Feel the Power"—that further extend Twisted Sister's early legacy as one of the finest groups of the '80s.
Customer Reviews
Often Forgotten & Highly Overlooked
This includes some of their best songs, like "I Am (I'm Me)" & the title track. They're more just "that band that did I Wanna Rock & We're Not Gonna Take It," & this album proves it.
Great
This to me is the best TS album ever......no spooffy videos, just great rock songs. I am (I'm Me), The Kids Are Back and You Cant Stop Rock'N'Roll are standout tracks....Stay Hungry started the decline of this once great NYC rock band.
i hate it!!!!
this was a terrible album.
