Album Review
The seeds of Euro-dance sown on Claro Que Si reached fruition on Yello's next record, naturally titled You Gotta Say Yes to Another Excess. There are fewer novelty synth tracks than before, those being replaced by a series of sleazy, deep-throated vocals on "I Love You," "Lost Again," "Heavy Whispers," and the title track. There are also a few exercises in worldbeat synth pop, with heavy percussion on the title track as well as the closing number, "Salut Mayoumba." Though Blank's production doesn't sound as consistently innovative as on the first two Yello records, that's probably due more to other synth pop groups catching up than any comedown on his part.

Classic and Even More Appealing After Time
Yello is a popular Swiss electronica band consisting of Dieter Meier and Boris Blank. Yello was originally formed by Boris Blank (keyboards, sampling, percussion, backing vocals) and Carlos Perón (tapes) in the late 1970s. Dieter Meier (vocals, lyrics), a millionaire industrialist and gambler, was brought in when the two founders realised that they needed a singer. Nevertheless, this album can take you on a strange and wonderful journey! This will be the most unique music you have ever heard. It should not be classified as electronica but as "Yello" music. Yello music is definitely for the more adventurous type.
You Gotta Say Yes to This Classic Yello Album
While Stella will always be the ultimate Yello album for me, You Gotta Say Yes to Another Excess is a close second, with classics like "I Love You", "Lost Again" and "No More Words". But it's all classic eighties techno-weirdness and I will always love Yello. And if you round out your Yello collection with classics like this album, and Stella, then, baby, you will, too.
What about BOSTICH?
That was the cut.
