Dare I say...
Adam Stidham (Civalias) is one of the best lyrists to hit the music industry in a long time. No other CD will graze my player for a good 3-4 months (hopefully by then he will have more songs for me to play!). "Anything But You" is a powerful romantic song based on Pachabell's Cannon in D--but with a twist. This debut EP is everything I hoped it would be--awesome.
Something promising
It's hard not to be suprised by the quality and maturity of this debut. It's easy to see what makes this EP special. In You.Me.We, the haunting vocals and softly bulit beats of civalias create an atmosphere all its own, proving there's still something promising in this over-eager and crowded genre.
You can't stop listening...
This album has the appeal of Coldplay and The Postal Service. It has the production quality of Radiohead, and the lyrical depth of Death Cab for Cutie. All of these elements combine to form a wonderful, original, necessary EP. I can't stop listening, and I can't wait to hear more.
