Customer Reviews

One of the best albums from last decade.

In the New Year really struck me, so I decided to download the whole album. It's now one of my all time favorites. This is one of those rare albums that gets better with time. The more I listen to it, the more I find to appreciate. It's absolutely worth the purchase. I highly recommend.

A atmospheric dream come true.

A record that can take you a million different places is really something special. You & Me is, to bring it all together, really a record about traveling and meeting and losing people along the vacation of life. The band's sound is timeless and the lyrics could have been written 40 years ago. It's a cold winter morning album, or a sunny autumn day album, or a warm summer night album. It's whatever you want it to be, really.

Masterpiece!

What I can't believe is that there are only 2 (now 3) reviews for this album. This is a classic album that will be looked back upon years from now as one of the best albums from the past decade. A friend had turned me onto The Walkmen this past fall, and this album knocked me out (still does). I listen to a lot of different music and can't give enough props to "You And Me". It has that "feel" throughout the whole album. If you enjoy great songwriting, lyrics, and original music you will love this. It did take me 2 listens to "get it", but it's been well worth it. This group has the uncanny ability to sneak up and Yank at your heart-strings ninja-style.

The 900-square-foot Harlem industrial space, dubbed Marcata Studios, was completed in the fall of 1999. (Bands that have recorded at their studio include labelmates...
