Gracefully Awkward Brilliance

The simple brevity of the songs, the electronic elements, the occasional mismatched harmonies, the flats and sharps create an awkward but organic vulnerability. And yet the hymnal quality in some of the vocal washes, the beautiful ripe melodies arising in unexpected places and just the timbre of this man's voice bring the aforementioned vulnerability a sort of quiet strength. A great album!

A great record from Danny from Menomena. If you like Menomena, pick this up. It's a little more straight forward, but still a fantastic record.
