Album Review

You've Got Mail is standard romantic comedy fare — composer George Fenton creates a lightweight score as cute as the film's co-star Meg Ryan. There's no doubting the consummate skill at work here, although this music is interchangeable with dozens of other breezy, soufflé-light evocations of modern love, perhaps ideal for a lazy day curled up on the couch with a Danielle Steel novel and a cup of Taster's Choice.

Wonderful, but missing something

I haven't bought this album, yet. What's keeping me from snatching it up right away (being the soundtrack to one of my favorite movies) is that it's missing the fantastic songs that so helped the movie come to life and inspire me to walk the streets of the Upper West Side. I'm talking about the opening title song and the Cranberries' famous tune, among many others.

Found missing songs from You've Got Mail Soundtrack

The first one is called The Puppy Song by Harry Nilsson, The other one is from The Cranberries, called Dreams. They are must have songs to this album. It's what you remember.

Be warned: Instrumental Only

This is not the soundtrack as you might expect from the movie. It is just the instrumental scores. The other songs, such as the Cranberries, and Randy Newman are not present here. In the end the album is also very short.
