Adobe without the usual bloat! Excellent!
After being less than satisfied with my boxed verson of Elements 9, this new App Store version (Elements 10) is a breath of fresh air. A terrific editor, it comes without all the usual nonsense that Adobe clutters your hard drive with, whether it's repeated calls to sign up for IDs and various supplementary deals, or whatever the latest marketing ploy is. With this App Store version, it's plain sailing, uncluttered, clean and as it should be. It also seems snappier than 9 and after almost a day's testing, not one upset of any kind.
The Adobe Organizer that comes with the box version isn't included here, but that is no loss for me and is one less thing stuck on my hard drive that I'd never use. I also bought the latest version of Pixelmator last week and gave it a good review, but its lack of layer styles and crude text facilities make it a non-starter when compared to Elements 10 in my opinion. It depends on what you need of course, but for me, this new version from the App Store is exactly right for my needs. Your own needs might differ from mine, but this is to let you know that if it has what you need, everything seems to be working just fine, and without any of the annoyances Adobe users normally have to put up with. Recommended!
Horrific install and support experience
Like others, when I purchased Elements installed in German. I spent hours with Adobe support who would not address the issue because I could not provide a software license number - they would not accept the App Store invoice number. Turns out the issue is a STUPID bug - go into system preferences and move German down the list of languages, reboot & you get English.
The Adobe tech supports were ignorant and rude. Apple App Store found the solution for me. It's a shame to see a good app ruined by horrific Adobe customer support. If there were negative ratings, I would assign based on the 3 hours I lost wading through Adobe support.
Don't upgrade if you have version 9
It's not worth it to upgrade from version 9. I didnt see any difference.
