ABOUT GAME:
Alien Glyphs presents an original conception of an arcade survival game, which gives you the chance to meld with mysterious hieroglyphs of an alien race. While playing you have to find glyph pairs in the allotted time, activate power-ups, fight against mutators and escape penalties. HOW TO PLAY:
Alien Glyphs is a puzzle-based arcade game. The goal is simple but challenging - to find the pair for each target glyph on the alien control panel and then strike it. You have a limited time for each glyph. If the time expires another glyph appears on the bar. If the bar is filled with glyphs, the game is over. Power-ups and penalties can slow down or speed up the timer, mutate or mix glyphs, and more. For each completed game you have the option to create challenges and send them to your friends.

Very well done.
Okay, this is a matching game BUT... it is done with style and a completely different take. The first thing you will notice is that there is a high polish factor. All the necessities such as Open Feint, volume controls, themes and glyph sets and a great tutorial are included. This immediately builds confidence in the game. The writing is slightly broken English but is accurately conveys your goals.
Glyphs - the blocks with lit up lines forming a pattern pass from over head and stack from the top right. There speed is controlled by a timer which is related to your difficulty at that point in time. Your objective is match the glyphs that are stacking above to the ones below without the top getting full. There are modifiers that you can win by matching the glyphs before there timer runs out. If successful they will add to you screen at the bottom until there duty is done. There are positive modifiers that help you and there are negative ones that make it harder for you.
If the style of this game intrigues you rest assured it is done very well and is very enjoyable.
Very cool game
I was first intrigued by this game when I saw the first screenshot, the one that looks like red and blue liquid crystal or light emitting diode alarm clocks.
The I noticed there are 3 other themes. I would LOVE to see many more, as this is always the second most important thing to me in a game, especially an ipod game: Content.
My first, however is gameplay. Alien Glyphs takes you through a 9 phase tutorial, which takes a LONG time. Maybe the last few phases could be cut short, as they don't need to be there.
I can see how this game can appear pretty simple at first, but it gets a lot more hectic as you really get going.
All you really do, in general, is touch the symbol in the 'chart' as it appears in the top line.
I would love to give it 5 stars, and I plan to as soon as many more graphic themes appear. It seems like a 99c game with 4 themes. Give it about 12-15 themes, it now becomes a $1.99 game.
It would also be cool if all of the themes were used for some sort of 'Marathon' game mode, where you cycle through a different them for each different level.
The developer seems to be pretty active on TouchArcade, which is always a good thing. Pretty friendly and helpful as well.
I still have no problem recommending this game. It's a true original and I plan to keep it in my ipod for a long time to come. If additional themes are added, forever probably!
Great Game for Brain Conditioning
must say that this game is awesome!
The Simplicity of it all combined with its look make this game really stand out.
This is a Superb looking game! The graphics are quite stunning and beautiful. The whole game really looks attractive and pleasing to the eye, even the icon!
The gameplay couldnt be simplier, just find the matching symbol and touch it as fast as you can!
But the powerups are what keep the game interesting and making scoring more random then it would normally be.
There are several different powerups which can be either positive or negative and will affect your score in some way.
There are a couple different skins that you can choose to play with, but more would be great!
The tutorial does take some time to complete, so just make sure you give yourself some time to do that.
and the game already has OpenFeint integrated into the game with achievements!
I love this as a brain training game because it isnt hard to play, and it challenges you to be quick which does help your brain to stay active and alert!
