Alphaboard is a special alpha-numeric keyboard application specifically designed to help special education students with adequate written communication skills to transition from alphabet board (such as the kind used in HALO-SOMA's RPM method) to physical computer keyboard.
Our organization has a few special needs students who are currently learning academics using the RPM. They have proven the fact that, most autistic individuals are very capable intellectually. They know way way more than they could communicate to us, and they could learn and do way way more than we would normally judge. We hope this tool will help your autistic loved one to develop good written language skills, so we would not unnecessarily restrict them to just labeling picture/photo as only mean of communication.
Please visit HALO-SOMA's official website for additional information on RPM: http://www.halo-soma.org

Needs work
Please do something not many of the companies have thought about, put the text bar and any extra buttons on top to prevent fingers from dragging across them on their way to hit the right letter. Where is the space bar? A communication device is not a single word. You need directions to explain how to make changes to the text color. Also a setting to help those with poor motor skills to be able to control how many seconds until a button will activate would be nice. This application needs work. We can't use it like it is. Remember communication devices are used by many different types of people and the one we can't find is or someone who has motor control difficulties.
