Banner & Witcoff’s IP Lawyer is a free iPhone application providing full search access to patents issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and to a comprehensive library with up-to-date news and information on patent legislation, court rules, and laws by jurisdiction.
Banner & Witcoff’s IP Lawyer was designed to provide users with optimal functionality, by bundling features previously provided by multiple applications into one. The application provides direct access to patents and to the document library without connecting through a web browser.
Banner & Witcoff’s IP Lawyer provides dynamic search capabilities for searching US patents, including the ability to search by keyword, patent number, assignee, and many other patent fields. Users may further search within the text of the patent, and can also download actual patent images.
This is a free, convenient way to check if an idea has already been patented. This mobile application is also a great resource for off-site meetings with attorneys, clients or inventors, and for litigators in the courthouse who need fast and easy access Federal statutes and rules, as well as local patent rules.

Profoundly excellent and stupendous
This is by far the best app ever developed. The graphics are what sold me. Will be sure to use every time I visit the Wind Tunnel.
Great App! Easy Assignment Lookups
This app is fantastic. In some ways the interface is superior to USPTO's. One touch navigation from a patent to its reel and frame. Rules and code too. My quibble: add access to PG-pubs.
Promising, but not perfect
On the patent side, this app has some nice search & display features, and it's nice to have patent download tied in w/ Google content. Wish you could send PDF downloads to something like Evernote or Goodreader to read later. On the trademark side, every sample search failed. Maybe they should just remove TM & stick with patents.
