Description

Find which neighboring squares must be painted and create a beautiful picture! Each puzzle consists of a grid containing clues in various places. The object is to reveal a hidden picture by painting the squares around each clue so that the number of painted squares, including the square with the clue, matches the value of the clue.

Fill-a-Pix are exciting logic puzzles that form whimsical pixel-art pictures when solved. Challenging, deductive and artistic, this original Conceptis puzzle offers the ultimate mix of logic, art and fun while providing solvers with many hours of mentally stimulating entertainment.

The game features a unique fingertip cursor which enables playing large puzzle grids with ease and precision: to fill a square, move cursor to the desired location and tap anywhere on the screen. To fill multiple squares, press and hold fingertip until cursor fills the square and start dragging to neighboring squares. The game also features a powerful Smart-fill cursor for quick, single-tap filling of all remaining empty squares around a clue.

To help see the puzzle progress, graphic previews in the puzzle list show the progress of all puzzles in a volume as they are being solved. A Gallery view option provides these previews in a larger format.

For more fun, Fill-a-Pix contains no ads and includes a Weekly Bonus section providing an extra free puzzle each week.

Fun game, suggest adding a hint option.

UPDATE: Conceptis has updated the game to address the concerns noted below, I really like what they have done - a great game! ********** I really enjoy the game overall and have worked through most of the free games, including the weekly freebies. However, some of the larger, advanced puzzles can be VERY difficult and frustrating. Sometimes, I may stare at a puzzle for an hour and not see any options from the clues given - that gets frustrating (I am currently over 10 hours on one puzzle alone). I don’t see a “hint” option, which I strongly suggest adding, so I can start to see clues to look for. You provide a “solve” option, but that doesn’t help me learn clues. If a hint option was available, I would be much more likely to buy the other games. As is, I probably won’t.

Thank you for your feedback. Adding a "Hint" option is something we are looking at right now and hopefully we will add it as a standard feature to all our apps in the future.

Love It - Needs 1 Improvement

Finally an excellent game with absolutely no ads or subscriptions! Great way to exercise the mind with relaxing entertainment and no stupid ads or subscriptions. You purchase each puzzle for a few bucks and use it as many times as you like. My one and only complaint is that finding a single unmarked tile in a large puzzle is extraordinarily difficult and frustration for someone with kess than perfect vision. There is so little contrast between the white unmarked tiles and the light grey "X"ed tiles. I will raise my rating to a five if/when an option is added to select a different color for the unmarked tiles. A vibrant color would be difficult to stare at for long, but a soft pastel hue would be easy on the eyes and easy to find in a big sea of marked tiles.

UPDATE: The developer emailed to say that adding the option to shade the unmarked tiles a different color to make them easier to spot would ruin the aesthetic. I fail to see how the aesthetic would be affected since all colored tiles would be gone once the puzzle is completed, and if the player doesn't like the look of the unmarked tiles being shaded a light color they could simply turn the option off.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your feedback and suggestion. Using a different color for unmarked tiles will spoil the appearance of the picture while solving. However, there is another way to find that last single unmarked tile by tapping the Assistant button and then tapping "Show hint". This will show you immediately the location of that last unsolved tile. We hope this tip is helpful.

Great puzzle game, enhancement suggestion

This game has brought me many hours of head-scratching enjoyment. The images are very entertaining, and I enjoy the variety.

One minor issue for me is sometimes when I pinch and zoom, I accidentally change a cell I did not intend to change. Finding my mistake is very difficult. I think I have some color blindness because the red color used to show errors is hard to discern, especially on the larger puzzles, and especially for the cells marked with an ‘x’. Maybe a feature that temporarily blurs out the correct cells and the unmarked cells, leaving only the cells with errors, or temporarily enlarges incorrect cells is an alternative.

When I do a very large puzzle, and I think it is complete with no errors, I realize there are one or two cells I still need to mark. However, even on an iPad using the zoom feature, it is hard to find the unmarked cell. A “show me empty areas feature would be very helpful, maybe similar to showing cells with errors.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your feedback. Although not perfect, the new "Assistant" feature should help you with both issues you describe. In the case of accidentally changing a cell the Assistant will tell you if there is an error and will enable you to fix it automatically. Also, in the case you almost completed a puzzle and can't find the next empty cell, the Assistant will move the grid and show a frame around the area where you can make the next step. We hope this helps.
