Cop Recorder is a network-enabled authority recorder. With this app, you can secretly record audio whenever you are dealing with an authority figure, and then anonymously upload it to the OpenWatch.net server to expose police corruption and brutality!
Use it whenever you deal with the police, the military, the TSA or private security forces in your country! If your rights are violated, you will have evidence!
Once you press Record, the screen will turn black with a small recording indicator. Once you are safely away, you can close the app to stop recording, then re-open the app to upload the audio to the OpenWatch server where it will be anonymized and posted online.

Illegal BUT
You can video anyone, but not record. How stupid, but that's the law.
TO AUTHOR OF THIS APP - YOU CAN BARELY HEAR THE RECORDING, so it won't help if you scream after you're shot.
Not Illegal
You all really need to study up on the law. There are many places where it is perfectly legal to record Police encounters. They are public conversations.
WA State for example allows citizens to record encounters with the Police in any public setting, and it has been confirmed by case law. Thus, this and any other recording program for iPhone/ iTouch etc are perfectly legal.
You all are citing laws that concern private conversations with citizens.
Your gonna go to jail
In most states it is ILLEGAL to record a conversation without the other parties knowledge. You record the contact and try to reveal this recording in court not only will it be suppressed as evidence for you it will be evidence against you and you will go to jail.
