A dark fairytale of intrigue and mystery, where the sins of the past must be paid for… So sets the stage for The Dark Meadow -- a visually stunning world of deep exploration, gripping story, and heart racing combat, created with the unrivaled power of the Unreal Engine 3.
You awake in a hospital uncertain of how you arrived there or why. An old man warns of a beautiful witch whose minions roam the halls seeking the living. It is only when the witch is destroyed that you will be released from this unrelenting torment.
Using fun and intuitive fully gesture-based controls, you explore the decaying ruins of Montclair Hospital, armed with your crossbow for long-range combat as well as your sword for up close and personal melee battles.
The best elements from role-playing games encourage exploration as a wide variety of items are secreted throughout the world – from hidden scraps of paper that reveal the mystery of your imprisonment, to weapons and items, to money which can be used to purchase better equipment and weapons.
- Visually stunning, photo-realistic world built with the Unreal 3 engine
- A mature plot, stylized as a dark modern fairytale with bizarre twists and turns;
- In-world storytelling and quality acting
- Gesture-based action: crossbow ranged combat with ‘pull back and fire’ mechanic, slashing melee combat with dodging, blocking, and combos;
- Available in English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean , Italian, Simplified Chinese, Russian, and Brazilian Portuguese languages.

Customer Reviews
The Update Saved the Game
I originally downloaded this on my iPod Touch 4. Needless to say, the game was far from captivating due to my small screen real estate. No lag and minimal skipping(only on the opening cutscene/menu), though. Then, I redownloaded the game for my new iPad. It was a love-hate relationship. The game's story and premise were excellent, the atmosphere creepy yet humorous, and the graphics were nothing short of spectacular. Yet, those stupid sun coins bugged me to no end. I paid a whole $7 on this game, why does it feel like one of those crappy freemiums from Glu or Gameloft? I had to grind a LOT to even have a chance. Eventually, I was so disappointed that I reluctantly stopped playing.
A week or so later, I saw the update and immediately hit install. The game is now how it should be. No sh*tty sun coins or ads, just an excellent blend of Amnesia and Infinity Blade. Please don't get greedy again, Phosphor! As the game stands now, with the update, 5 stars. However, the previous version would've received 2.
They changed it!
I played the free version about a week and a half ago and really liked it. I thought to myself "wow, I should get the full version so I don't have to deal with the freemium crap." Well, then I checked the reviews and saw that they still kept it in the paid version! I would have bought the full version if not for that. Now that they've changed it back, I can play and enjoy this awesome game. I wanted to write this review to show the developers that it DOES MATTER if you listen to your customers.
THANK. YOU.
I love it when developers listen to their customers.
