Finally! and only 99 cents?
Im forever spilling coffee on or misplacing the dog-eared 'eat shop portland' guide books in my car--was hoping there would be an app soon. The filter makes it really invaluable; easy to navigate by neighborhood. I live in Portland & consider myself fairly savvy but I still rely on these guides for inspiration when my rut gets a little too deep. I need the paperback eat.shop guides when traveling and can't wait for London, New York, and L.A. to come out in app form. Besides being fun to read the links to businesses' websites will be invaluable--the eat.shop experience is so unique that easy access to covetable goods will be a fun way to 'arm chair' travel and support independent business owners worldwide when I can't get away. The only bad thing about the eat.shop. guides is that now if I travel to a city they haven't covered yet I feel like Im missing something-- spent two weeks in Auckland last summer and every day I kept thinking "if only eat.shop. had been here first!".
Definitely Buy The App Instead of the Book!
If you've ever wanted the Eat.Shop book but for less $$ this is definitely the app for you! It covers about 40 stores and 35 or so restaurants, so for $3.99 it's definitely a better value than the book and you can easily filter between just stores, and just restaurants. It's has a "Near" feature which could be better -- all it does is shows you drop-points that you can touch to see where these places are vs. your current location. I wish it would let you sort by neighborhood...
