Doesn't work
Definitely not an alternative to Siri. The app doesn't work, even simple requests generate a "I'm having trouble getting a response from my servers, you might want to try again in a minute". Saw this on 9to5mac and thought it would be legitimate, but it's a ripoff. Seriously, how difficult is it to find a sandwich shop near me!!!! I'll keep using google mobile app or Dragon. They're free and actually work.
May I have my .99 cents back?
Thought this would be a lesser alternative to SIRI, since I have an iPhone 3GS. My expectations were not high by any stretch, but I figured it would do some basic things decently and I would enjoy that convenience. So I paid my .99 cents and installed it! I figured my first command would be something super easy that could not be gotten wrong. So I pushed the little microphone and spoke the command: WHAT TIME IS IT? It recognized the voice command because what I said appeared on the screen. Directly under what I said was: I'M GETTING MY THOUGHTS TOGETHER. What followed that was an animated one-eyed smily face which gives the feeling that it's searching for an answer, but after about 6 or 7 minutes, I get: I'M HAVING TROUBLE GETTING A RESPONSE FROM MY SERVERS. YOU MIGHT WANT TO TRY AGAIN IN A MINUTE. Needless to say I kept trying and trying and NOTHING worked... not even when I manually typed the command in.
I understand that this is a new product and there may be some kinks, but why would you bother releasing it if the major kink is that is does not work at all? I will give it a chance and try again later and then tomorrow. If it's still not working by then, I will consider this app fraud and seek my money back. I will update my post with the results.
Seems like it will work
Just got this app and it seems like it will work, once the servers are up. I ask a question and I just get a server error response saying the servers aren't working. That needs to be fixed.
