Description:
Eye Chart Pro is a generator for randomized Snellen and Tumbling E charts to offer a rough but useful screen of visual acuity. Simply press a button to randomize the entire eye chart, or touch an individual line of the chart to randomize that line. Tap another button to toggle between Snellen and Tumbling E charts.
Eye care professionals around the world use Snellen Eye Charts to measure visual acuity. However, patients often memorize the classic Snellen chart, leading to less accurate vision measurements. Enter Eye Chart Pro! Though this unique, notebook sized randomizable eye chart should not be used as a primary visual acuity measuring tool, it can provide a handy rough vision screen when a chart is not available, or it can be used to complement static, wall-based Snellen charts.

A must-have
Absolutely amazing. Used to use the back of Maxwell's, but room was always too dark or patients said there was too much reflection. This is the perfect brightness especially for the older patients who already have difficulty with vision. It's fast, too. The randomization feature is good since I always suspected that some were using just rote memorization. For non-english speakers (we have a huge Haitian creole population), asking them to just make out how the E looks create great versatility. A must-have for a primary care setting.
Revolutionary
I am a neurologist and use this application on my iPad and Eye Chart for iPhone on a daily basis seeing patients on rounds and in the clinic. The new features in this version allow isolation of individual lines in addition to the randomization of letters among myriad other useful features. This app makes the old chart projector an anachronism, and from speaking to my ophthalmology colleagues, I am certain you will see iPads hanging in optometry and ophthalmology rooms across from the examination chairs in the near future.
