Creative app for the Most Creative People
This is a really nice idea for an app. Instead of taking an entire issue and repurposing it, Fast Company took their annual 100 Most Creative People in Business package and expanded and enhanced it for a stand-alone app. The app is packed with videos (but they're links to web videos, so they don't slow down the download time), fun animated graphics, cool photos and lots of surprises. The list itself is diverse, interesting and surprising, the art and photos are a delight, and the interface is easy to understand and use. There are some nice innovative touches, like the way they took the traditional "how to use this app" page and folded it into the editor's letter, and the way they created an original "cover" that doesn't match the cover of the print edition (but you still get a full taste of the wonderful Conan O'Brien cover photo shoot that appears on the front of the actual magazine). The 100 Most Creative People in Business is everything an app should be: fun, engaging, innovative, packed with information, and graphically and visually modern.
lots of potential, but some bugs
the good:
interesting content and nice layout
the bad:
for one thing, this is not a regular issue it's a special issue. I was really hoping to find the current issue, but settled for this special issue. (I'm not giving it fewer than 5 stars for this, but just thought I'd mention it)
the thing that made me take off 2 whole stars is that not all the images downloaded, and some of the content says it can't be displayed. In some cases, it's obvious that content is missing because of holes in the layout but there would be no other way to know... so I feel like it's very unreliable and not really worth the money.
good but 2 pricey
Bottom line might be worth it for some people. But I really expected
a more substantially appealing. Some people in their 100 have very little info and a you tube video embedded.
I clearly expected more for the price.
