Description
Buying well-designed American-made goods is a conscious act, akin to buying food at a farmers’ market. Is it sometimes more expensive? Yes, but there’s value in not only knowing the origin of what you purchase but also in creating a connection with the maker of your goods.
With that in mind, Fast Company found the 76 best products designed and made domestically—everything from surfboards to coffee filters to handbags stitched from cast-off clothes—and dug deep into their creation. In this app, you’ll find:
BACKSTORIES
so you can read in-depth about the making of every product on our list.
AUDIO CLIPS
so you can hear product designers talk about their process—and share a few fun stories, as well.
VIDEO CLIPS
so you can peek behind the scenes of the American manufacturing process.
360° PHOTOS
so you can see our best products from every angle, and even place them virtually in your living room.
DISCOUNTED PRICES
so you can buy your favorite products on a whim.

Great idea but...
...how about showcasing more 'Made in the USA' stuff that your regular, everyman American can afford? A $4000 kitchen knife? $1000+ step stool? C'mon man. I'll buy American Made every chance I can but these are, for the most part, luxury items.
Aside from that, it's a beautiful app, just not practical products.
Good idea, products too pricey
I'm happy to buy American but the choices here are too limited and too pricey (e.g. $50 nail clippers). Navigation in the app could be better.
Good but needs new content
This app does show some of the pricier stuff out there. There are lots of other well designed beautiful products available so why not showcase them too?
Maybe I have missed it but my perception is that not one item has been added since my original download.
If you have never seen this app it is interesting to take a look at. You will have to laugh at the overpriced examples of industrial design (no matter where it is made).
