Saved a Life

To start I am a Sheriffs Deputy, i have this device on my ipad and both my wifes and my own iphone 4. She recently wrecked our 2009 Dodge Charger in the country with our 6 month old daughter in the carseat. She was knocked unconsious. I could not reach her so i used the app and tracked her phone. I was an on duty officer who thanks to this very app was 1st on scene at my wifes accident and got her and our daughter the help they needed. Once i had the location I dispatched a medic and assistance while enroute. Thank you thank you Apple. Fyi they are both without serious injuries.

Somebody needs to explain ...

This app simply REGISTERS your iOS device with iCloud, as it previously did with MobileMe, and can be deleted from your iDevice after registration.

As far as FINDING your iDevice, you can log on to iCloud.com from ANY computer, using your Apple ID – no need for a "desktop application" – and iCloud will find your device if it's active on cell or wi-fi, and show its location on a map.

Of course, if you refuse to let your iDevice send out its "Location" coordinates, then your iDevice isn't going to be found....

It's a great app!

Everyone has been writing a review, but most people have the wrong information that give it a low rating.

So first off, you download the app and sign on, then go on iCloud and turn on find myiphone service.

After this go to restrictions and turn off accounts(this will make it so that you will need a passcode to change/alter any accounts; ie: email, iCloud) (you will set a password). This will make it if someone steals your iPhone, they can't go into iCloud and turn off the service. If they turn off iCloud, you can't track your phone.

If someone deletes this app it won't matter after its been installed, (because it's only used to track your iPhone, nothing else, it's not the actual service), and the ICLOUD SERVICE is ON, and they can't turn it off because you have it passcode protected. This means The service that locates your phone is ON because iCloud is on, not because the app is installed. You can also make it so that deleting apps is password protected, but it doesn't matter if they delete this app. You can go on iCloud.com and locate your device there as it says, or go on another iOS device, go on this app, and log on and locate your device.

If you remotely lock your phone, it will lock it and show a message you want it to say.

If you wipe all information off the device, you won't be able to track your phone anymore because you just wiped EVERYTHING off(your iCloud account just went bye bye).
