Description
Fluid Automata is an interactive visual art program that lets you manipulate a fluid system that is made up of colors, a photo, or a live stream of video from your front or back camera. By using one or multiple touches you control the direction and energy of the fluids. It's highly addictive and it's easy to make beautiful visualizations with Fluid Automata. See http://www.fluidautomata.com for more information and links to a gallery.

"love this app!!!" - Film Fr3ak
"I honestly love it. The more I play, the more curious I get." - ipadpunk.com
Fluid Automata is a Universal Binary. It has been tested on iPad 2, iPad 1, and iPhone 4 with iOS 4.2 and 4.3. Fluid Automata uses GLSL shaders for super responsive visuals. It does *not* work on the iPhone 3GS (since the 3GS doesn't support the custom graphics pipeline via GLSL shaders.) There is no camera support on iPad 1.
Remember that you can toggle the sliders on and off by double tapping the screen quickly in one place. This is especially important for iPhone and iTouch users because of the limited screen size.
Some videos showing the use of Fluid Automata and a recent performance that used Fluid Automata for visuals can be found at my vimeo page: http://vimeo.com/angusforbes

Fun for all ages
I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Forbes show a demo of this app at my grad school last week, and had no second thought about buying this the day that it came out. All of the adults in the room had fun, and their kids were fascinated by it.
This app presents a background image that has a real-time fluid system rendered over it. The image can be noise, a photo, or real-time video.
The main strength of this app over other similar fluid/art apps that I have used is the amount of variety. There are many presets and noise varieties, and the controls all greatly affect the image.
Overall, a great purchase.
Visual tactile trip
One of those dangerous apps that will draw you in for hours... Create strange/beautiful images then save them as stills to share. Fun for anyone who loves tactile art making and image warping... Very user friendly!!!
Five finger crash
Really enjoy this app so far, but when I try the zoom the screen goes black and my iPad wigs out - no buttons work and I have to reset it. A lot of potential this app has, but seems a little buggy.
Is it possible to save settings to use them again?
