Our Functional Planning System provides a visual approach to daily planning. Utilizing the power of video modeling, the Functional Planning System can be used to plan out a user’s entire day. Think of it as a cross between a video playlist and a calendar app. Activities can be scheduled, and step-by-step videos prompt the user through the completion of the activity. Alarms can be set and even made to be recurring for daily tasks. Videos for many activities are already (available through in-app purchase) as part of our Functional Skills System video library, which has over 4,000 images and videos to choose from.
You can also use the capabilities of the iPod touch and iPad to completely customize the application for the user - use the camera to shoot your own pictures and video and use the built-in microphone to record your own audio.

a few tweaks needed...
I have been using this app with 2 students in my classroom. To help students become truly independent and make this more functional I would 1) Create a repeat notification alert or optional notification alerts to pick from - if students don't hear or respond to the notification alert the first time, they miss it! When they miss an alert/reminder, they pile up on the home screen. 2) When notifications stack up on the home screen (because they weren't heard), students can't open each one to check what they missed. After they open the first, the others are go away. Each notification should stay on the home screen until opened. Right now I am still reminding students to check their iPods because they are not, and so again they are dependent on someone else. My hope was that this app would create more independence for them, but if they miss the notification alert the rest of it is a mute point!
