Galactic Empires Description
Players start out with a single undeveloped world and attempt to build a huge empire in the universe. Along the way to their empire, players can form alliances with other players, research technologies to improve space ships, and perform various missions. Alliances are similar to guilds and serve many functions such offering members protection, enabling free trade among members, and consolidating forces for attacks. Although the game is text-based, Galactic Empires still looks good and has more action than most other games in the genre.

Bad Operators
First, they move all the planets outside of galaxy 15 into galaxies 10-15. They ruined al strategy there.
Second, we have to use an email address to get ahold of them. It will take several weeks for them to respond, if they ever look at the messages which is rare.
Third, the admins listen to only the top ranked players, who wanted a shrink in the universe so their targets are close to them. Now the top players want a limit on how often you can go into vmode (basically a mode for breaks for real life when no one can attack you). The weak Game Operators will most likely bend to their will.
Fourth, the rules are always changing to better suit the top ranked players, or to prevent bug abuse that should have been fixed months ago. The GOs won't even tell you when they make up a new rule. They expect you to constantly check the forums.
Fifth, the GOs came from alliances (before they became admins). They will ignore complains and not enforce rules for top ranked players and for members of cavorts alliances.
The GOs have corrupted this game. If you do decide to play, DO NOT buy Dark Matter. Wait for the mobile version of OGame to come out in a few weeks (this game is almost identical, and basically a rip off with tons of bugs, of OGame).
I warn again, do not play.
Don't buy
This game looks fun till you spend time building up and strong players attack and destroy your work. Played for well over a year and every couple weeks someone in the top 100 obliterated all the work. This game is well known for strong player abuse. Plus it's corrupted the admins only listen to top players and ignore everyone else. And all the 5-star reviews are planted by the admins and top players.
DO NOT BUY!
Horribly run game.
