Description
Game Developer is the leading magazine for the video game industry, serving both working professionals and the aspiring developer. For nearly 20 years, the magazine has provided everything from in-depth code features that help address specific development pain points, to trend-based articles about the industry. Game Developer is the best place to find postmortems of video games of all types, from console, to PC, to social, handheld, and smartphone platforms. These dissections of what went right and wrong behind the scenes of game development have proved wildly popular among both game developers and consumers at large.
Other major features include a yearly salary survey, which charts developer pay across disciplines; engine roundups; top publisher and developer reports; as well as game tool reviews and awards, and much more. All this is alongside our regular columns from industry leaders from (or recently from) companies such as BioWare, Bungie, Maxis, Microsoft, and others.
Game Developer is the ultimate companion for the working developer.

Frustrating experience
I bought my first digital issue and I WON'T be buying another. The interface is clunky, and for some reason the app won't let me zoom in enough to read the text comfortably. It's like all they did was scan each page and save it as a low-quality jpeg, compression artifacts and all.
The content in the magazine is good, but the experience of reading the digital version is terrible. Stick with the paper editions until they deliver a better product.
Interface is useless
Content is great stuff, but it's impossible to read the text; the pages seem to be displayed as low-res images, and the app won't let you pinch in close enough to read the text.
Aside from readability, the whole download paradigm is broken--I can't tell if it's only possible to cache one issue at a time (which would be bad on its own) or what's going on.
Needs a lot of work.
*Review for iPad version, haven't tried iPhone.
Text View Available
Hi. In response to feedback specific to readability. There is a text view feature available. On the iPhone, there is a text icon below each article to switch to text. Also, from the App table of contents, you can click on articles to view in text. For iPads, the text option is on the top bar on the right-hand side.
We'll continue to work w/our vendor to better the experience. Thanks for feedback! Cheers!
