Description
Limit your child's game playing time on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod. Essential parenting tool. It's wise to monitor and limit the time your child spends playing games or watching video on the iDevice. The American Academy of Pediatrics' recommends that parents limit screen time to no more than two hours per day. You can do just that using Game Time Limit for Parents.
1. Set the number of minutes your child can play on the iDevice, e.g. you might decide that twenty minutes per day is sufficient.
2. Set a secret Passcode. (You only need to do this once unless you wanna change it.)
3. Start the timer. Now you can let your child have the iDevice.
4. When the timer ends, an alarm appears on the screen, stopping your child from playing anymore. The only way to stop the alarm is for him to handover the iDevice to you. Otherwise, the alarm keeps appearing.
5. Enter your Passcode to stop the alarm.
Game Time Limit for Parents works with all games and apps. With our SmartBlock technology, your child can't use the device anymore once the timer runs out. Getting your child to stop playing games on your iDevice will never be the same again. No nagging, no last reminders, no threats... just let this app do its job. Sit back, relax… soon, your child's probably on his way to bring your iDevice back to you.

Needs More Controls!
XVision,
Your "Game Time Limit" is a nice app ... for toddlers. I'm amazed there is no better "time limit" app for teenagers!
Here's what I'd love to see added:
* Within a 24 hr period, I can restrict my kids use of their device (20 min to x hrs)
* If they turn off the device, the timer should pause
* Before shutdown, a 5-minute warning should come up, then a countdown for the last 30 sec.
* Allow possibility of a total lockout between certain hrs (ex. midnight to 7am)
* Allow setup for longer time use on weekends
* Each day, the timer starts over again
I would gladly pay for such an app, as would many parents I know!
I truly think the first developer to come up with an app that will simply restrict a kid's use of their device to a certain # of minutes per day (without having to set it every time for them!) will reap tremendous rewards! It's needed for the Touch, iPad, and iPhone.
Hopefully you've already got this in the works,
HW
Doesn't Pause in Standby Mode!
This app doesn't deliver on it's promise because it keeps counting down even when the device is in standby mode (when no game time can be happening)! This causes the time limit for game play to be inaccurate (because my kids can easily claim that they put the device down in standby for x amount of time and I would have no way to validate this).
In addition, I needed a way to give them set amounts per day on a weekly basis. This app doesn't even do that! As a parent, all I need is just some easy way to set daily limits on each device and know that the app is only going to allow the set amount of aggregate daily usage. I want to be able to say to my child, "okay, you've got 2 hours of TOTAL iPod usage today. The app that I've installed will not allow you to exceed this limit. So use your time wisely!". Then I could set their time up or down whether they have school days or weekends. Obviously, I should still have some way to increase/decrease their allotments as the situation changes. But the real beauty of such a system is not having to set the timer EVERY TIME they want to go on their device!
This app is no more than a glorified timer which I already have on my kitchen microwave. A good idea that needs a few simple tweaks to become that must-have product that every responsible parent will pay $$ to get their hands on! Just wake me up when the upgrade is ready.
Awesome! Heaven-sent app for parents
Can I give this app 10 stars! Ever since I used this, I have no more problem stopping my child from over-using my iPhone. This app is great. I have been waiting for such an app for a long time. Finally, this developer found a way to actually stop my child from playing her games once her time limit is reached. This is more than just a simple timer that sounds an alarm; it really blocks the game from continuing. Now, I don't have to coax my phone back from her. She willingly returns the phone as she can no longer play any games or watch any videos on it. I highly recommend all parents with young children to get this app.
