GTA Clone
This is a clone of the GTA series. The graphics are slightly below GTA 3. If you really love GTA and want to experience it on the iPad, this is your best chance.
Pros:
Decent graphics for the iPad.
Fun gameplay.
Good choice of ways to steer and drive.
There are couple of things they did well that even GTA still doesn't have. Starting missions from the menu to save time, and being able to purchase some weapons and health, at an inflated cost, through the menu are very nice. Also rotating your view with the iPad is nice too.
Cons:
Everything drives the same, beaches, roads, grass, same speed on everything
Glitchy, plenty of issues in this game.
Poor physics
Poor pedestrian placement. You will see guys in business suits walking in the beach and can pull girls in bikinis right out of the cab they are driving, pedestrian placement is very random.
So the game is good, and for $8 versus $20-$60, there is not much room to complain, so I gave it a 4 star for being a decent game for what it is, a subquality low-tech clone of GTA.
Not just a rewrite
The team at gameloft didn't just port this over like they have with some other games. They did a good job of using the larger screen for some enhanced interfaces as well as retexturing the whole game.
Unfortunately, there are still some collision issues, and some models are really chunky, especially the people.
