Description

Garmin Tracker™ – Track What’s Important

Brought to you by the worldwide leader in GPS, Garmin Tracker — combined with a GPS-enabled Garmin tracking device (purchase required) — lets you track what’s important while on the go.

Garmin Tracker is a free, unique app that’ll help keep tabs on whatever’s important to you. Got a little one walking to school? No sweat — clip a Garmin tracking device to their backpack. Got a frisky mutt with a specialty for sneaking out of the yard? (Bad Rex!) Attach a Garmin tracking device to Rex’s collar. You’ll be able to see the location of all of your devices using the handy dandy Garmin Tracker app.

Not only does the app let you view your device’s location directly from your smartphone, it also lets you draw geofences, view track history, and adjust your tracking device settings.

(Let’s review: A geofence is a virtual boundary around an area of your choosing. When you set up a geofence for your tracking device, you can set a preference to notify you by email and/or text message when it enters or exits.)

So, back to your little one — say you want to know when they arrive safely at school. You can use the app to draw a geofence around the school and set your preferences to receive an email and/or text message once they enter that geofence. It’s that simple.

And then there’s Rex, your sneaky mutt. Using the app, draw a geofence around your house and yard. Once you get the notification that Rex has left the yard for a stroll through the neighborhood, grab your smartphone and go. Finding him is a breeze because Garmin Tracker will show you his location on a map. Catching him and bringing him home — that may be a different story.

Here’s how you get started:
1. Get yourself a Garmin tracking device.
2. Register and activate your device in your Garmin account at https://my.garmin.com.
3. Download the free app to your smartphone.

What you can do with the app:
1. View the location of your Garmin tracking device on your smartphone on an easy-to-read map.
2. Draw, edit or delete geofences.
3. View track history of your device.
4. Set up email and/or text message notifications.
5. Adjust your device settings.

With Garmin Tracker, everything needed to locate and control your tracking device is in the palm of your hand.

Great app

But needs a few thing,
(1) Needs a way to delete GeoFences
(2) Needs to text when battery gets to... Say 20%.
(3) Most of all needs a button to set a GeoFence for your current
Location that's like 10 yards in diameter. So you cat set it
If you were parked somewhere like a mall. Then when you
return you could press the button again to clear the current
location GeoFence. This would be the best upgrade ever.

Crashes a lot. LIMITED!

Downloaded it to track my GTU 10 but the app crashes constantly. To use it you are required to register an account with Garmin and it does not allow you do that from it nor you can use your email (if already registered) to log in as it requires you to user a username.

Do not buy the device (for now and wishing they change it) if you want friends and family to track you in a sports event. The implementation for tracking in an event is useless. You can only invite from the website to known emails and each recipient must have a registered account with Garmin. To add to the pain, it is limited to 5 hours maximum… where some sports event are longer, especially in cycling.

Buy the device if you want to occasionally know where the device is. Do NOT buy it to track people in sports event. False advertisement.

App needs improvements/device awesome

Just bought a GTU10 and the device is awesome, it's a garmin. Hope Garmin reads this and don't let us customers down. The app it's baggy and needs to be re-done. First (iPhone 4S): updating history takes a lot to update but gives a erro message as well, and the app crashes like crazy, we need more options like the website, and last don't forget, some of us have google voice numbers and need to get messages to those numbers
One more thing. I do recommend garmin GTU10 over the pocket finder, I bought it and the have a website like the ones I do. Their costumer service is bad and more expensive.
Will give five 🌟 when updating this app.
