The GoFlex Media™ app allows you to access all the photos, videos, music and documents stored on your GoFlex Satellite™ mobile wireless storage device. Simply choose the “GoFlex Satellite” network from your iPhone®/iPad® WiFi settings and launch the app to navigate through the folders stored on the device or tap on “Videos”, “Music”, “Photos” or “Documents” to easily see a filtered view of your content. Tap on a video and it will begin playing almost instantly with all the familiar iPhone®/iPad® playback controls. Videos and other media can be streamed from the GoFlex Satellite mobile wireless storage device or downloaded for future use.

With this latest release, you can be connected to your GoFlex Satellite device and access the Internet at the same time. Just tap the Wi-Fi icon on your GoFlex Satellite device to connect to your wireless hotspot.
Share Your Media Library With More Users
Stream three HD videos simultaneously or add up to eight users to your GoFlex Satellite Device to share pictures, documents, and music.
Note: If password protection is on, you can connect a maximum of five devices to your GoFlex Satellite drive.
Extended Battery Life
This extends the battery life of your GoFlex Satellite device. When you're watching a movie that resides on your GoFlex Satellite device, your movie is automatically downloaded to your viewing device. You don't have to do anything; just enjoy your movie.

Found a way
it worked on my iPhone 4S but not the iPad3 -- so I downloaded the new firmware as suggested elsewhere here. didn't help. I did it AGAIN. This time - SUCCESS! the app works with the LATEST Seagate firmware --- easy to upgrade, download the firmware to your drive, recycle power on drive, and it is updated, and the iPad3 works with the App. Thanks to the forum support! cheers.
Just doesn't work
iPad (3) with GoFlex Satellite 500GB; have the updated firmware on the drive and latest app version; connects and lists content fine with USB cable to MacBook; plays movies, music,etc, however, WILL not work with ANY consistency with iPad; one in thirty tries (literally). Now refuses to work with iPad at all. The one time it did connect via their wifi system each movie of 161 total was listed 40 times. Not at all happy with their equipment or software.
V1.3.5.502 doesn't work
Just downloaded v1.3.5.502 and the app no longer connects to the drive. IPad and iPhone running iOS 5.1 just keep referring me to the Settings app to select the hotspot server in the GoFlex drive. Never connects. Please try again, quick! Also means that the functionality of leaving the main network connected is busted.
