Gorilla Monkey Crunch Lite takes you into the world of Gunter the Gorilla who dances and jumps on his bridge deep in a tropical forest. Gunter's bridge overhangs a river that has very animated Monkeys floating past on rafts. Hear them scream. Gunter is very mischievous. He throws coconuts at the Monkeys in an attempt to knock them off of their rafts. But being an ape he sometimes misses and the coconuts are re-launched at Gunter, often breaking the bridge. Now things get tricky, Gunter has to jump over the gaps in the bridge and the bananas that the Monkeys throw up onto the bridge. And he has to do all this before the timer runs out. Fortunately for Gunter he has some tools to help him. He has the timers that randomly appear to extend his time and the toolkits that float down the river that he can hit with the coconuts that will fix the bridge.
Gorilla Monkey Crunch features open-ended game play which means that as long as you get the timers and have Gorilla lives remaining you could play forever.
Sound easy? Well prepare to have your ego bruised. In testing the Leaderboard champion was a 6 year old with 6100 points. You can compare your score and post results to Facebook and Twitter using the OpenFeint Global Leaderboard feature. (paid version only- not available in the free edition)
Instructions:
☆ Tilt the device to move the Gorilla left or right on the bridge
☆ Tap the drop coconut Gorilla button to drop the coconuts on the Monkeys
☆ Tap the jump Gorilla button to jump the Gorilla over the bridge gaps and bananas
☆ Score points for clobbering Monkeys, Tookit hits and timer take ups.

Still room for improvement
This games is ok and will provide some entertainment. I think the developer's went a little overboard with the controls as this app requires tilting, touching the screen and trying to do all of this in a small space makes it a little difficult. My kids (5 and 7) would have fun with this since they have smaller fingers. This is not a game to jump straight into. The developer's have taken the time to create a "How to play" page that explains what the controls are and object of the game. Overall, this app will provide entertainment and a little frustration trying to master the controls.
Fun Donky Kong 2D Style Game Play
Very fun and challenging game. So far My high score is only 1,500 and from the sounds of it a 6 year old has dominated me with over 6,000 points.
This is a great game if you're looking for a good challenge but don't have much time to play. There is no time limit in this game, but if you don't have good hand eye coordination and timing you won't last long!
For only $0.99 this app is a good bargain.
I don't think I'm cut out for this type of game
I gave this app a try over the last few days, and unfortunately, it just hasn't won me over. There are some things I really like about it. The esthetics of the game are quite decent with a look and feel that are very reminiscent of arcade style games from my younger days. But the actual feel of game play in this app seems rather frustrating. The game itself is not overly complex or convoluted, but the behavior of the various game elements left me feeling that the odds of inspiring me to a half-way decent performance were highly stacked against me. Granted, I'm certainly not reknowned for my raw gaming aptitude. But no matter what I tried, I was unable to progress in this game simply because there seemed to be no way for me to outsmart these little monkeys. After playing for some time, I came to accept that the problem was largely due to my lack of precision and fairly ham-handed timing. Not only did I find the degree of aim required to be excessive, (meaning I found it very difficult to hit my intended target) , about 90% of the time, the monkeys took the coconuts I dropped and used them to drop me through the bridge. They are well within their rights to do this, but man, it was curtains for me pretty quickly each time. After a few days, I realized I had only been able to hit the 'bridge repair' target only one time. I hate to say it, but it seems that this game lies just beyond my limited gaming skills. (I know, how belittling, huh?) I suspect that after a significantly greater amount of playing time, I might improve somewhat, but I'm just not sure that I have the patience for it. So in the end, it looks good, it sounds good, and I guess its a pretty decent game..... but just not for me.
