Recording
Simply begin recording whenever a story occurs.
Set markers at points of interest in the interview. Markers make it easier to navigate large interviews. Finding those good soundbites can otherwise be a tedious job.
Add additional recordings to your session. This could be speaks or background sounds and more.
Editing
Hindenburg Mobile has all the editing features needed for creating a radio interview.
The interface is kept simple and uncluttered. But there is more to it than meets the eye.
* Non-destructive editing with full undo/redo.
* Cut, copy, paste, insert, break, clear, move, trim and change volume of regions
* Adjust playback position with audible scrub
* Rehearse edit or play selection
* Add fade in and fade out or create cross-fades between regions
* Create, delete and rename markers, jump between markers
* Copy and paste audio between sessions
* Add jingles or sound bites from the favorites clipboard.
* Use the built in compressor/limiter to increase overall volume.

There are three ways of getting your interviews out of the device.
1. Send to your computer (With Hindenburg Journalist)
2. Send as e-mail
3. Upload to FTP server
Free Desktop version:
Sending your interview to your computer gives you the opportunity to continue fine-tuning the interview and add more tracks. With a simple push of a button, the recordings will be transferred from your device to the computer.
Sound bites can also be sent from your desktop to the iPhone from the Favorites Clipboard.

Share audio as WAV, AAC or ALAC (AAC only supported on newer devices) with adjustable compression parameters.

The best by far.
This is by all measures a stunning piece of software and by far the best recording application in the App Store. It has a clean interface, remarkably easy to use and yet it allows complex and perfectly accurate audio editing. As a radio journalist, it gives me everything I need, from AAC audio compression to WAV perfection, from FTP uploading to audio file attachment emailing, from location tracking to real time monitoring, from sound bite selection to audio scrubbing. Most importantly, I’ve been using it for weeks on the field and it has never crashed on me. If you are serious about recording, get a good external microphone and buy this application. There is no going back to a portable recorder. My Sony PCM-M10 has been in the drawer for weeks now.

I can't believe it's taken this long for there to be an audio app that gives you this much control. I first downloaded the free beta desktop companion app and it was very intuitive and stable. Decided to give the iphone app a whirl and am thrilled to finally have this level of audio recording control and editing in my pocket!
I was looking for something to use for editing interviews for audio blogging while on the road, and I think I've finally found it.

PERFECTION!!!!
This app was masterfuly crafted with both iphone and ipod touch users in mind. I can connect a mic to my ipod and have it playback through the external speaker. The layout is beautiful and professional. The editing is F#%$ing FANtastic!!
The new limiter/compressor is excellent! This app is more than worth every cent for such professional quality and features.
