They've done their part well
It's taken a few releases, but this one seems to have made the app nicely workable on my iPad. The problems with it are due to Apple's implementation of VPN support, and from what I've found, this application is the best I've found for working around the problems.
What problems? The VPN connection must be restarted every time the device goes to sleep. Hotspot Shield has figured out how to make this automatic -- all the others I tried required a manual restart of the VPN, which for me is useless. So in this case it restarts automatically, but it still takes a few seconds to fire up. That's not AnchorFree's fault, so I'm not docking them any stars for it. On the contrary, over the last few days I've tried this release I've found it to consistently restart after just a few seconds and then work flawlessly. This is the first release where I've seen this kind of consistency. I also have found that the speed of the VPN connection is quite good.
I'm going to leave it on for the rest of my month's purchase, and if it remains this consistent they'll get a year's subscription out of me. I won't use public wifi without a VPN and at this price it's a no-brainer, saving me from having to potentially buy more data from Verizon.
Note that I _don't_ use this on my iPhone. In that case I find that the few seconds of delay is too painful. (Again, not AnchorFree's fault.) When I use my phone I usually want it to connect and do my bidding as fast as possible. So in this case I just don't use public wifi and stick with cellular data when I'm away from home. I'll likely occasionally try switching on the Hotspot Shield occasionally to see if I can adjust, but so far I haven't been able to. It's great that one subscription can be used on both devices.

Just don't have in automatic or you'll SOMETIMES get poor or down internet, otherwise very happy with it :)
Very disappointing
I delay as not worth the price. When tried to download to my wifes iPhone charged me twice.
I tried this including the new update and made down loads so slow my medical apps were useless. I love the idea but the delays in down loads made my patients wait.
I would use of they was an easy on demand button for on line banking or to check financial apps.
