THE Killer App!
I cannot say enough good things about iAnnotate PDF. It is the best / most important app on my iPad, and it keeps getting better! It is what turns my iPad from a toy into a tool. I am an academic, and this has changed how I do my work. All my research is done on the iPad, via iAnnotate PDF. I download research in PDF format, and read, highlight, and annotate freely. I can carry around huge amounts of research with me at all times, and it's all searchable as well! These days, I only turn to my computer when I have to do actual writing. Also, when I go to class, I have my various texts (obtained from the publisher), my class notes, and the class roster all in iAnnotate PDF. Aside from looking cool, it's so much more convenient than carrying loads of stuff to class. I recommend this app to everyone in the highest terms!
BTW, there are other PDF annotation apps out there, but NONE make it as easy to annotate your PDFs. Here, you can select the highlight tool and highlight with a simple gesture. For most other apps, you have to select text first (which can itself require multiple gestures), then decide what to do with it -- which is much more involved. For simplicity of annotation, iAnnotate PDF simply can't be beat. And it's powerful, too!
