Customer Reviews

It's great.

I tried lots of different apps after it was clear Quicken was a dead-end. I settled on iBank and could not be happier. The interface took some getting used to and the transfer from Quicken was not problem-free. I spent several hours transferring 15 years of data. The reconciling took some getting used to, but at least it has that feature, unlike Mint. But once you settle into it (I've been using it for a year), it's simple yet very powerful. The investment interface, too, took some adjustments, but is far superior to anything I've ever used.

The most important feature is the iPhone app, which allows my wife and I to keep up-to-date registers on all accounts. The reports are excellent, especially the tax-related reports.

Minor complaint is that I wish you could attach bank statements to the reconciliations, the same way to can attach files to a transaction.

Dissapointing

A word to the wise, if you want to use this app to it's full potential, chances are you'll have to pay a monthly fee to your bank to allow the app to have "direct access". Even when you do that, it's not worth it though…because the app symply isn't accurate.

I had been using it on and off for a year, but it would always slip out of sync by a few dollars here and there. After I did my taxes for 2011, the numbers were so off that I had to start a NEW ibank document for the new year and redo everything. I thought, well, the interface is clean and friendly, maybe I'll just create a new document every year. But, even that failed…to the point where I stopped using it for months. I just checked in today to see where it was at and it literally was off by over two thousand dollars.

If you bought this program, you have 90 days to get a refund. Obviously, I can't get a refund now. Just know if you buy this and it's not working for you the way you want, DO NOT EXPECT it to get better. You'll only wish you hadn't started in the first place…with $60 less in your pocket.

Pretty Good

I have used lots of accounting software, including quicken and quickbooks. I thought this program is pretty easy to use and has adequate reports. I think the budgeting and reporting features could be expanded to be more powerful. Easy downloads from my bank. Overall I think it offers a good experience, with an emphasis is on simplicity over power.
