Description
PLEASE NOTE: While you can use the built in television program guide on its own, in order to control your home theater, you will need RedEye hardware (a separate purchase). RedEye hardware (whether the original Wi-Fi RedEye, the new RedEye Pro, or the plug-in RedEye mini) sends out the infrared signals necessary to control your home theater and other equipment.
RedEye is your personal remote control.
With the RedEye system you can use your iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and even PC to control your TV, stereo, cable box, DVD player, and many other devices that receive standard (infrared) signals. In other words, no more hunting through your sofa cushions for all those different remotes – all the control you need is right in your pocket.
RedEye is...
PERSONAL. Each person in your house can use her own iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, or PC as a controller, and more than one controller can interact with your gear simultaneously.
SIMPLE. One touch launches any activity – watch TV, listen to music, play a video. And custom screen layouts for each activity mean you never have to hunt for the right button.
SMART. Multi-touch gestures for common functions, free software upgrades delivered through iTunes, the ability to control different rooms from anywhere in the house – all cheaper than other universal remotes.

Life just got a whole lot easier :-)
May 23rd update:
I'm still disappointed that the iPad version button layout cannot be fully expanded to a full screen view!! If you're using the channel guide, it will occupy half of the screen real-estate. If you disable channel guide, you'll automatically get the activity page to take up half your screen. HUGE waste of screen real-estate. Why can't I have the options to have my buttons full screen already. The iPad iOS has been out for well over a year already. This missing feature is way overdue already. Please make this happen.
For the people who are having issues with the unit receiving/transmitting commands... Check your network connection inside & out; it has nothing to do with the unit itself or the app, trust me.
For the guy who didn't know why his commands were not registering until he realized he actually had to face the redeye remote towards his tv/cable box... Thanks for the great laugh. It's amazing what appears to be common sense to one person, it's an absolute puzzle to someone else. There's a reason the company didn't document that certain step... It's because it is called common sense!!
However the same person did hit some great points right on the head:
-When editing your remote layout, the app occasionally crashes. Not a big deal but it does happen.
-when wanting to move a button around, the icon doesn't always initially move unless you twirl it around. It's not smooth
- The ability to move multiple buttons at one time, to edit button layout manually or import your own and to edit your backround wallpaper for the remote would be absolutely awesome and a steller of a update hopefully in the near future :-)
Very good
This app works very well with my sonos system as well as my tv. I'd recommend this for anyone
Broken - Redeye Mini
The new version is broken with the redeye mini. Once you add devices and setup a room, when you try to activate the macro it crashes.
I always felt like this app was created and maintained by 1st year community college CS majors, but they really screwed it up this time. At least the old version worked 70% of the time.
