Description
iPitchPipe is the next generation in remote tone recognition for optimal a cappella performance, instrument tuning and aural skills training. This virtual music tool plays a true, acoustic tone as produced by your favorite chromatic pitch pipe for a discreet yet reliable starter pitch.
iPitchPipe is a C-C and F-F chromatic pitch pipe application designed by an experienced music instructor. The 13 pitch wheel is easy to use. Functionality was customized to support the varied environments in which a pitch pipe may be used. For example:
* Easy touch volume control (before, during and after pitch activation)
* Quick touch start and stop of pitch
* Default pitch duration of 4 seconds - pitch will not carry on unexpectedly!
* Preferred volume level memory
* Natural pitch pipe exertion-tactful sound
To use iPitchPipe simply select the note you need by tapping one of the full octave pitches on the wheel. The pitch is usually the starting note of the musical selection or a tonic/reference note in which to tune both instruments and voices. The pitch will automatically stop within 3 seconds or to quickly stop tap the center of the wheel!
This sanitary and affordable music tool will not harden, waver in pitch nor require replacement reeds. An economic and useful resource for any musician, choral director, instructor, student or music enthusiast!
We have received some great feedback on future enhancements. Please keep the suggestions coming! All upgrades will be free!
What's New in Version 2.1
* Fixed bug where sounds are not played when vibrate switch is set to vibe.
* Remembers last pitch pipe used and re-opens to that pipe (C-C or F-F) next time iPitch Pipe is started up.

F-F out of tune!

does the job
simple app simulates a pitch pipe--no frills or thrills. I can live with the slight inaccuracy in the F-F.
To think of all the times over he last 50 years I could have whipped this baby out (Murphy's Law:
your usual pitch pipe is always lost or broken!)
Simple. Does the job.
I use this to lead a capella singing in my church, and for that it works wonderfully. The F-F inaccuracy is not an issue for me because I'm always using C-C.
There are a couple of enhancements I'd like to see:
1. Seems like the volume is dependent on a combination of both the volume slider on the app and the ringer volume of the phone, regardless of whether the mute switch is on or off. It's easy to lose track of what the volume is going to be until you're standing up in front of the congregation and the volume is either too quiet...or TOO LOUD.
2. A feature I'd love to see is the ability to enter a small list of song numbers and pitches that can be recalled later. I would imagine this would be useful for song leaders, band musicians, etc. I'd like to enter 6 to 8 songs, each with a number, a title, and a pitch. Then replace the portion of the screen where the "F-F" vs "C-C" switch is with controls to show the currently selected list item, advance to next/previous item in the list, and edit the list. Each time a new list item is selected, the pitch is selected - not played - on the pipe (maybe by rotating the pipe, or adding the white rotating arm found on some pipes). Then the user knows what pitch to sound without having to look at the music. The ability to save/recall multiple lists and import lists would be even more helpful.
The Sunday after installing this app, I truly did forget to bring my pitch pipe to church, and had to "go live" with iPitchPipe unexpectedly. It worked great and has ever since!
