Customer Reviews
Staggering
I rarely write reviews, but after reading the whining comments about a few thousand audio books that can be had for a buck, I had to step up. Yes, it's unpolished, awkward and a bit inconvenient to use, but how much does high-end sophistication matter for something that's so incredibly valuable?
And then there's the "worthless app" complaints because LibriVox relies on unprofessional readers... HELLO! They're volunteers for crying out loud! OMG... If you can't understand why I'm so perturbed about those injudicious comments, well... Get a life.
I'll give this magnificent app 4 stars... Only because it is somewhat inconvenient to use, but wow, the content blows me away. I'm also adding an additional star to help make up for the doofi (plural of "doofus") who aren't as highly evolved as the rest of us.
Gutenberg
This app has a fatal flaw which renders it useless on an iPod Touch or a WiFi- only iPad. The audio is streamed. You cannot download an entire book and listen to it off-line. Outside WiFi range you are out of business.
Frustrating App
I got this App so I could research different books I'm contracted to illustrate. Each chapter of a book stops playing after several minutes. Pressing play starts the chapter over from the beginning, only to stop at the same spot. Happens with any chapter I choose. Frustrating and useless App.
