ADOBE® PHOTOSHOP® EXPRESS: Edit and share — anywhere

Adobe Photoshop Express software lets you use simple gestures to quickly edit and share photos from your mobile device. Enjoy having your photo and video library right in your hand — without wasting your device's valuable storage space.

Photoshop Express is a companion to Photoshop.com, your online photo sharing, editing, and hosting resource. Create a free Photoshop.com account to upload and store 2GB of photos and videos online.

HAVE FUN ON THE RUN
With Photoshop Express, it's easy to improve your photos. Choose from a variety of one-touch effects, or simply drag your finger across the screen to crop, rotate, or adjust color. Add artistic filters like Soft Focus or Sketch. And never fear: You can undo and redo changes until you get just the look you want—a copy of your original file is always saved.

Top editing features:
• Basics: Crop, Straighten, Rotate, and Flip
• Color: Exposure, Saturation, Tint, Black and White, and Contrast
• Filters: Sketch, Soft Focus, and Sharpen
• Effects: Vibrant, Pop, Border, Vignette Blur, Warm Vintage, Rainbow, White Glow, and Soft Black and White
• Borders: Rectangle, Rounded, Oval, Soft Edge, Vignette, Rough Edge, Halftone, Film Emulsion and 22 new borders and frames that can be purchased.

In-App Purchase: Adobe Camera Pack (iPhone 4 and 3Gs, iPad 1 and 2, iPod Touch 3rd and 4th generation)
• Reduce Noise: Even the best phone cameras can introduce small amounts of grain and speckling—called noise—into images. The Reduce Noise feature smooths out those flaws to quickly improve your photos. It’s fast, accurate, and puts professional Adobe Photoshop quality in the palm of your hand.
• Self Timer: Set a camera timer to 3- or 10-second intervals before the photo is snapped.
• Auto Review: Make sure you get a good shot and delete it if you don’t. Auto Review gives you a quick look at your picture before the action passes you by.

In-App Purchase: Adobe Border Pack (iPhone 3G and newer, iPad 1 and 2, and iPod Touch second generation and newer)
• Explore different looks for your images with Adobe’s new vibrant borders & frames

Why?

Sometimes I really wonder what the motivation for the business model at Adobe could possibly be. I mean, you created the best photo editing software in the world but you do nothing but antagonize your current and future customers with the most inane development and marketing decisions of any company on this planet, except maybe for Microsoft. But, for the sake of brevity I will only discuss the app at hand.

Why would you offer a set of frames for a premium? Or more to the point, why would you offer premium frames and not even address the most blaring, obvious shortcoming of this app? The effects filters. That paltry set that came with the app are laughable. If anyone in your company owns an iPhone, and they have ever taken a photograph with said iPhone they would be able to tell you that frames are really low on the list of trendy photo apps. What is hotter than a firecracker you might ask? It would be apps that deliver well made effects filters to simulate high quality and vintage film photography. Don't believe me? Look at the app store sales in the photo and video categories. If you have a marketing research firm you rely on for this type of data, FIRE THEM. With Photoshop in your arsenal, I would expect some kind of wicked, stellar offering from Adobe. Yet, sadly this has not been the case.

I really really want to like Photoshop Express but with what you have offered so far it is getting harder to do. I know it could not possibly be that difficult or that resource intensive to give the public what they want in an iPhone photo app from a company that is synonymous with amazing photo editing. There are many better apps on the market right now from companies we've never heard of before we PAID for their software. I know, in my heart of hearts, that Adobe can surely rise from the ashes and offer us eager, PAYING iPhoneographers an app that will shame the rest of the market. Now get to it.

Much less useful than other apps

Sure, it's free. But with the PhotoShop name, you might expect that something as basic as correcting a color cast (or color temperature) might be included. Also, the slide up and down on the image method of making adjustments isn't very responsive. Good old sliders, as found in other apps, work much better.

All in all, this is not a useful app. I deleted it after a few tries with images from my 3GS. Photogene, Camera+ and Snapseed do a much better job.

There are 10,000 great photo editing apps for iOS

This isn't one of them.
