TO USE JIBBIGO:
1. Hold down the red ‘record’ button by the flag of the language you speak.

Comparison to Google Translate
Having used Google Translate, I think it's appropriate to compare the two apps. Having been a long time user of Jibbigo, I wasn't too upset to see another app that did the same thing for free but there is one key difference that's still in Jibbigo's favor; that being that it works offline while the Google Translate requires a network connection. Considering one might need the app when traveling overseas, the ability to work without a network connection is no small matter. Also, Jibbigo just added IPad support and that's another plus that Google isn't likely to emulate. On the other side of the coin, Google Translate is not only free but it covers a multitude of languages; about 25 with voice support and many more with just text.
As I recently upgraded to the iPhone 4S, I found that Jibbigo is exceptionally accurate in transcribing my voice to text and the UI for having a conversation is more natural with one less keystroke. Overall though, I'm quite happy with Jibbigo and hope they continue to improve the product.
New version is much improved
The speech recognition in this version is noticeably better. That was the biggest issue with the previous version IMO, and now it's pretty good. The translation is also better. It's not always the optimal translation but it's rare that it's completely wrong. It should be practical to use this now abroad.
This version also fixes 2 smaller issues. There is a unique icon to distinguish it from the other Jibbigo apps. And there is an option to show the status bar. That last one is greatly appreciated, since I use the status bar for gestures.
This app is AMAZING
I don't understand what all the one star reviews are about. This app did everything it said it would and more. You have to speak clearly without a lot of background noise. I've used other translators and this is light years ahead as far as ease of use and accessibility. It works great on my iPhone 4S. I'll have to try it on my 3GS to see how it does. Great job guys! Two thumbs up :-)
