Description

Bring the City to Life!

When people think of our nation’s capital, a few things come to mind, namely power, history and cantankerous politics. While all of this is true (for both good and ill), Washington, D.C., has a whole lot more going for it than that. Let Scott Deckman’s D.C. Essential Guide show you around town with the aid of pithy descriptions, maps and pictures.

The District of Columbia is home to scads of diverse restaurants, eclectic museums, unique festivals and a broad range of people from all over the world. Along with the expected historical treasures on the National Mall, you’ll also find high-class shopping in Georgetown, local kitsch in Adams Morgan, jazz and rock in the many clubs along the U Street corridor and some of the prettiest scenery anywhere in Rock Creek Park. The guide hits all these high points.

Customer Reviews

Overpriced

The descriptions are cool, and has a lot of stuff mainly in the DC metro area to see, but the app is clunky feeling and cumbersome to use. It doesn't save what you were looking at when you close it, the photos are low-res and can't be individually viewed outside of the slideshows and don't rotate to landscape mode, and there's no information about the metro lines or stops you'd need to take to get anywhere. Ultimately we found it useful on our DC trip, but was not nearly enough to be a standalone guide to the city that I would expect for $5.
