Imagine yourself playing a violin with an orchestra.
String Trio is "Air-Violin" application with graphical guides.
It plays like a real violin.
Just tilt, swing and slide your iPhone/IPod as guide bars fall.
Control tempo, speed, and strength of your movement, then all the accompanying music will automatically adjust to your lead.
As its name implies, String Trio consists of three string instruments; violin, viola, and cello. You can play music with instrument of your choice.
It's easy, enjoyable, and educational that anyone will instantly feel like playing a real violin without learning how.

String Trio is not for freestyle violin play. Instead, it controls timing, tempo, length, and strength of given notes just like many other rhythm games.

Great but...
I absolutely love this app. But there is a few things that would be better... I think there should somehow be a free play mode. And the viola foes sound more like the cello than the cello does but I really like this app:)
not so great on the iPad...
Don't get me wrong...you can use it on your iPad. But it is way harder, and the tones are largely artificial.
To make this short and sweet: this app is like 98% of the music apps in the iTunes store. It is a toy. If that's what you want, this will be fun for you and/or your kids.
If you are looking for something with pro features, this is not it. In fact, as far as strings are concerned, there are few pro options in the store.
I have purchased over 800 music related apps in this store, and I play, perform with, and teach multiple "real" instruments. I don't work for any company, so I am not going to give anyone free advertising in this forum, but contact me if you want my opinion on the best of the music apps.
