Description

Pastebot is a powerful new clipboard manager that stores text and images copied from your iPhone/iPod Touch. Copy something you want to save, run Pastebot and it automatically gets imported for you to access later.

Organize your clippings in folders and use the built-in search to find what you saved quickly. Run a “Find & Replace” filter on a block of text or convert an image into Black & White. Maybe you just need to crop and rotate an image. This is all possible with Pastebot’s powerful editing and filtering tools. Pastebot contains 14 filters with more on the way.

Send your clippings via email or save your edited images back to your photo library. Copying something back to the clipboard is as easy as tapping it. Pastebot is the ultimate content storage system and hub. Don’t just use Copy & Paste. Command it!

Needs clip merging badly

What's the point of this app if you can't merge clips. You can just copy paste to notes...

Overrated and underwhelming...

...in light of hype and high price. Snazzy UI and multiple "filters" are gratuitous fluff when app lacks basic functions, e.g. exporting clip contents directly to clipboard for pasting into any app, merging several clips into one.

$0.99 app "Pasteboard" is more useful, or -- as other reviewers have noted, simply copy-pasting into any note app that accepts both text and graphics.

from a contrarian point of view

this app has potential (how cliche), but if you are like me, this app isn't exactly what i had expected/looking for. here's why (read examples below).

about a month ago i was stuck at an airport and had a simple problem: copying some text (email addresses) and several pictures (attachments) from one email into another. it just wasn't possible. having faced a copy and paste problem myself, i thought i would give pastebot a try, but it was disappointing to say the least.

not only was it unable to solve such a simple problem (above), and i understand that specific functions are limited by apple, but there are no workarounds available. for example, on pastebot i can't merge several clippings into one and paste them together.

what, then, is the point of pastebot, apart from being a beautiful app that is a simplifed version of a cross between notes and photos apps with a splash of photo editing? description says pastebot helps us store multiple clippings. true, but i can copy and paste into notes or "save photo" into photos to "store clippings" in my device as well. plus there are free apps for photo editing.

there's effectively zero gain in features/productivity from this app.

i already sense your criticisms, but let me give you a detailed example. say you have 3 different things to copy and paste from one email to another, but you have to do a lot of other copy and pasting in between.

without pastebot, your move would be: copy from mail--> paste into notes--> other copy and pasting --> [repeat other copying from mail and pasting into notes and other copying and pasting] --> copy from notes --> paste into final email. note the second last process--this is key. because i can copy all my "clippings" (in pastebot terms) from notes to my final email in one go (all 3 things are on the same notes page), i save crucial time. also, i only have to send one single email (note airport problem above again).

with pastebot, your move would be: copy from mail --> open pastebot --> other copy and pasting --> [repeat processes] --> open pastebot and email. but wait. i have to send out 3 seperate emails to get the information through. how is that more productive than my original method? (yes, you don't have to press paste when you open pastebot, but that is saving you one single keystroke for what? $1.99?)

bottom line: pastebot = notes app + photos app + [insert your favorite free photo editing app here] = not worth $1.99 if you ask me.
