Customer Reviews
This Magazine layout is awesome....but
I am not a regular reader of GQ but couldn't pass up on trying out this first issue due to what looks like a great layout. Font sizes are adjustable (thank you), images are pinch & zoomable (thank you), and the overall experience is great with one exception... GQ is promoting their print magazine for $1 an issue - within the app ($12 / year). While it's a great deal, my question is why is the app 3x the price when a digital version costs much less to produce. For now I probably know the answer, which most likely lies in the fact that they don't generate ad revenue yet for the digital version yet - even though there are ads in it. But when spending $2.99 for a digital version, do I really want to see that the heavy, costly print version is being promoted for $1.00 an issue? How about offering (at least) the same deal for a yearly APP store subscription.
Great Start!
I'm a monthly reader of the print version and this digital version is by far the best digital publication I've come across. It would be even better if all the issues were held in a single app with the ability to purchase other/future issues from within the app. Other than that...great start! Can't wait till this stuff gets to tablets...I'll be the first in line =]
Have to rebuy my February Issue??!!
This was a good idea but now I'll have to rebuy my February issue that I already have an icon for...really? I shouldn't have to pay another $1.99 for something I already paid $2.99 for.
Time to release another update so I can port my February issue over and eliminate the secod icon on my phone as it's taking up space! I'm disappointed that I even need to point this out!
