Description

With ilung you can test your lung capacity and determine the calculated age of your lungs.

Compare the results with your friends and realize what is happening to your lungs.
Perhaps it is better stop smoking? Or you have the optimum capacity for a deep sea diver?

ilung notes this for you!

ilung calculates the expiratory vital capacity of your lungs, this is the amount of air can be exhaled with the strongest effort at once. The vital capacity is a parameter for the function of the lungs and is used primarily in the spirometry.
The maximum vital capacity reaches a man aged about 20 years. The average is 3 to 4 liters and can be aged to values of less than 2 liters drop. Professional swimmers even reach values of up to 8 liters! Lower in women taking the volume to about 25% as the man lies.
Of course ilung is not a medical tool and is used primarily as a guide only! There plays a lot of factors such as air pressure, turbulence, different iPhone / iPod versions and of course the person himself a role. We have tested on some people and with benchmarks in order to achieve the best possible results.

To use ilung an iPod Touch you'll need an external microphone.

Note: ilung will not replace any spirometer or the way to the doctor! ilung and the developer assumes no liability for damage to the microphone or other parts of the equipment used by all of the liquid exhalation. Use this application at your own risk! :)

does not work!

Interesting but doesn't work

This App attempts to capture airflow at the microphone to measure lung volumes. Even if calibrated perfectly, the microphone can never measure air volumes expelled from the lungs because there is no way to know how much air is not captured by the microphone signal.
The volume reported significantly under estimates expired air volume by at least an order of magnitude
