MAJOR UPDATE COMING SOON!
We're pleased to announce that dietSNAPS will soon be releasing a major update with greater functionality, a new design and updated technology. Unfortunately, we were not able to release it prior to iOS 5's release. We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience with the current version if you upgrade to iOS 5 prior to our update.

dietSNAPS is not your average diet & food tracker. We don’t count calories. We don’t weigh our portions. We do something very different: we STOP and LOOK and take a picture of every bite BEFORE we eat it. Believe it or not, there have been studies that have found that the act of taking a picture before you take a bite is more effective than just keeping a written journal.* We hear everyday from dietSNAPS users about how easy it is to use and how thrilled they are that they can actually stick to keeping a journal. We look forward to hearing from you too.
DESCRIPTION:
• The easiest way to track your diet on the iPhone
• Use your camera to visually keep track of what you eat, drink, your exercise and more
• Email your log (daily, weekly, monthly or a selected date range) to your nutritionist, personal trainer, doctor or diet buddy

Great app
I started a serious weight loss program two months ago. Really did not want to log my intake. Too much work. Well dietsnaps makes it easy... Very easy!!!
I have become addicted now to recording Strongly recommend it.
Could be great.
I've been using this for about a week, and find the basic idea to be great. I hope that the next version will fix some irritations, though:
1. Streamline data entry. The app should make an educated guess as to whether the food in front of me is breakfast, lunch or dinner based on the time of the snapshot.. How about a set of options to tell the app what time ranges correspond with one's typical meals? It should prepopulate the 'time' value, as well, since the app is meant to be used right before you eat something. I should only have to manually enter a time if I'm using a photo from the library. (Even then, the photos are time-stamped, right?)
2. Make the post to Facebook function work. I've tried it a few times with no results.
3. Couldn't the photos be stored as a separate camera roll in the library? That would make them more accessible for other uses.
4. The export format needs much love in order to be useful.
Amazing diet app
I've been using Dietsnaps for a few months now and absolutely love it. It's easy to use, keeps me mindful of what I'm eating and really fast to use. I email it to my nutritionist weekly and it's been so great to send her a visual of what I'm eating. I have never kept up with another diet journal this long. I can't imagine not using it.
