On the verge of perfection
Memeo has a nearly perfect app here. It provides flawless access to my google docs--better than any other app i've used so far and despite the reviews weirdly complaining of crashes. The UI is the very best I've seen for an app of this type--gorgeous, intuitive and, strange as it may sound for a mere file management app, fun!
Sadly, though, the project has been stuck in limbo without any major improvements since initial release in 2010! A breathless announcement under the app's "news" tab promises a soon-to-be-released upgrade that will allow users to EDIT documents (not just read them). After two years, this can only be read as a cruel tease.
This review is not so much a statement of personal dissatisfaction as it is a lament for what might have been. Memeo Connect remains "fresh" despite being neglected (abandoned?) by its developers for two years! How many apps can claim that? While a testament to the brilliance and vision of folks at Memeo, it still falls short of being a "killer app." What happened?
