The Best Todo App for 2010 & 2011

Todo 5.0 Review: 12/9/11

Well, here we are, we got iOS5.0 and now Todo for iPad 5.0. The update fixes a lot of the bugs, lags and other issues this app has. The iCloud & Dropbox support are great for those that don't want to pay for online sync. iCloud seems to push tasks and Dropbox has a nice backup-ability with its sync. Todo Online is good for those that want a web app for their tasks and it works rather nicely. So while we might not have been given a lot of new toys to work with, the polishing up of bugs and more choices of syncing options works rather nicely. The app continues to be enjoyable to use, even after a year of usage.

Won't deny, update took too long to get to us, but now that it is here, maybe we'll get some nice toys *hint hint* like the below:
1) More Beautiful Themes.
2) Location-aware tasks.
3) Better way of inputting times for tasks.
4) End-repeating tasks after a certain date or # of times.
5) Add-pics to tasks.
6) More notification sounds.
7) More notification options for when it notifies you.
8) And more features!

Keep up the great work Appigo! Been enjoying this app despite its quirks.

Btw, to fix the red-circle not showing on Todo, go to iPhone/iPad settings -> notifications -> Todo and turn on Badge App Icons.

Contact support already if you need help fixing the app, it actually works rather nicely, their support.

Updated Review: 8/18/11

I am glad to see that my patience has not been in vain. My major complaint with the apps was pretty much the lack-luster syncing ability of these apps. Appigo turned around and gave us true "just works" sync support. And it works really well, with no annoying popups and no need to press that sync button ever again. This makes it feel like iCloud and not having to deal with that annoying, in-your-face "Sync window" anymore is a plus. Its awesome. It would have been nice to see it sooner, but at least you did it right and made it better than many of the apps currently on the store. Dropbox sync is also appreciated, will have to debate which I prefer better.

Suggestions for iPad app:
More iPad themes! I can't get enough of these :).
Location-awareness.
End-repeating tasks option
Start-date
Add-Picture-To-Task
Calendar view of tasks, no need to import them into our actual calendars, just gives us a month-view of what we need to do.
And of course more awesome support from you guys :).

I can now fully recommend these apps with their stability, beauty, sync-prowess, good customer support and variety of options. While quicker updates would be great, at least we don't have to deal with buggy apps when they become available.

Revised Update: 5/17/11

Suggestions:
In-App Calendar
Background sync and/or While-Closing-App sync
More themes! More holidays, maybe a birthday theme!

Updated Review: 5/2/11
Yay for bug fixes! My previous suggestions in the prior review still stand but thanks for the update!

What can I say, after using the iPhone version for a long time, I had high hopes for when I purchased my iPad 2. The large amount of themes and well done UI makes it a pleasure using this app. The major change from the iPhone is when your completing a task, there is no Strikeout-"theme" that the iPhone has. I don't mind this, as it sets the two apps apart and gives each other something unique. The themes are nicely done and allow you to give the app plenty of different types of looks.

The UI is nicely handled, with the lists put on a 3-Ring binder tab and gives the app a very binder-like look.

My main criticism is the lack of updating often, but the app is stable so at least they don't need to do bug fixes unlike other app developers. It would be great to see more sync options (like sync in background), Calendar-view or sync to the calendar.

Combined with the iPhone and Web-based site, Appigo's Todo is a powerful, clean and and simple application for getting things done. You can't go wrong with these apps.

I can't make a smart list based on a tag?

That seems like such a simple feature.

Fantastic support

This is a great product - I love it. And the tech support is great. I got assistance right away for a minor problem I had, and they are sincerely helpful. :-)
